Analog separators
Intrinsically safe analog separators are used to isolate sensitive circuits (e.g. PLC controller card) located in a safe zone from industrial automation field circuits installed in an Ex zone. According to applicable standards, in such a situation, it is required to use a device with an ATEX certificate.
The intrinsically safe circuit of the device can cooperate with an intrinsically safe circuit with protection level ia or ib of a device installed in a hazardous area "0, 1, 2, 20, 21, 22" of any explosive mixtures.
Galvanic isolation, in addition to ensuring explosion safety, protects against the effects of lightning discharges and overvoltages, eliminates the influence of ground potential differences between circuits and reduces the influence of object interference on the measurement result.
Furthermore, the separator allows for the matching of various standard analog signals (0-5V, 0-10V, 0-20mA, 4-20mA, etc.) between the input and output circuits.
